Mr. Liu Ka Ding, Chief Engineer of Shenzhen Metro Line 3, PR China will be presenting the latest on using Composite structures for better service life of tunnels. The presentation will revolved around optimisation of structural design, sustainable tunnel construction methods and techniques to provide tunnel safety.
Addressing performance parameters for new road tunnels will be the focus of Mr. Kwok Wah LO, Chief Engineer of Major Works Project Management Office, Highways Department, HKSAR’s presentation. He elaborates further on overcoming the challenges in cut and cover tunnel excavation methods and highlights on the importance of construction sequence modelling.
Mr. Joseph Lo from AECOM will be presenting on how to control design and construction costs of large tunnels with the case study of world’s large double-deck road tunnel, Chongming Tunnel.
